I had gone to see Penny as I had been suffering with stomach issues for about a year and thought there was nothing I could do. Thanks to her treatment, advice, guidance and help I was able to solve my stomach issues completely. During the treatment, Penny was always available for advice and she was really easy to speak to if I had any concerns or issues. Not only did she help to resolve my stomach problems but she also helped me transform the way I eat and now my family and I are all much healthier. Thank you Penny for your help! You really have changed my life :)! I would not hesitate to recommend Penny.
Pilates Therapy, Nutritional Therapy & Pilates tuition
Core Pilates & Nutrition
Hi, I’m Penny, owner of Core Pilates & Nutrition in Kings Worthy, near Winchester, Hampshire, which I established in 2004 with the aim of blending two disciplines that I am passionate about – movement and diet. I am fully trained in both matwork and machine Pilates, as well as being a registered Nutritional Therapist (dip.raw, BANT, CNHC).
I have spent the last twenty-plus years adding to and refining my skills with various trainings, workshops and courses, which I use to help my clients achieve their goals, whether that be movement-based, dietary or both.
I believe that if we give our bodies the right tools we can optimise our health and feel our best, at any age and at any level!
What I offer
Restoring your balance
If you are looking purely for Pilates sessions I offer matwork classes near Winchester, and also private and small group sessions at my fully equipped Pilates studio in Kings Worthy. I am a Certified Pilates Therapist, completing my training in 2021, and I use these skills and tools to assess – not guess – what my clients need if they come to me with an injury or niggle.
My nutrition consultations can be held in-person or online. With a 75 minute initial consultation I will take an in-depth case history so that I can create a personalised plan for you. I also advise on and offer functional testing, including genetic testing (Nutrigenomics).
I also offer packages of Pilates & Nutrition together.

An Integrated Approach
For optimal health I believe both correct movement and diet are needed. With any new client, Pilates or nutrition, I do a full assessment / consultation to fully understand your needs and put together the right plan for you. There are many crossovers, for example muscular-skeletal imbalances can affect our digestive system or our breathing; back or joint pain may be managed through diet; conditions such as osteopenia/osteoporosis can improve given the right diet and weight-bearing exercise – which the Pilates machines are excellent for.

Exercises are chosen based on what your body needs.

Customer Reviews
I have been under Penny’s dedicated care for over 13 years. Initially, I signed up to resolve a long-standing back issue, but I have gained so much more: strength in my core and improved posture, she has helped with my breathing, (it took me nearly 50 years to do this
properly!), I feel energised and then in contrast, the relaxation at the end of each session calms my overthinking brain. I am more than grateful for her gentle manner and patience, along with her expansive knowledge of the human form. And finally, she has shown me how to rectify my back issues and these have largely disappeared which is incredible as I enter my 60’s!!
I was a complete beginner at Pilates and Penny’s teaching skills were excellent. She began with the complete basics which I found very helpful and progressed throughout the week. Penny had a gentle, encouraging style.
Thanks Penny for your quality classes! When I hurt my back from repetitive lifting activities it took ages to feel I was getting better, even after physiotherapy. My body was all out of muscle balance trying to compensate for my weakened back. Because you make it your concern to understand each individual, particularly when they have had injuries and need careful instruction, under your guidance I was able to gradually re-learn to use the correct sets of muscles to regain my core body strength – something which I didn’t truly understand before, but am now very aware of – and now Pilates plays an integral role in keeping me fit and ‘body-aware’.
Having had a slipped disc I was constantly anxious about injuring it again but since doing Pilates with Penny my back has been greatly improved. I would confidently recommend her classes to anyone.
Your clear approach, good information and non-judgmental attitude have opened something up for me about eating again that I had lost touch with. The logic of blood sugar balancing is something so reasonable and I have felt able, since talking to you, to see really clearly what I had been doing and how to put things back on track. I look forward to seeing how my energy levels improve and to approaching the marathon in the best shape I can be.
After suffering for a couple of years with a bloated and sometimes painful stomach, I decided to visit Penny to see if a diet could rectify my symptoms. Amazingly I have been symptom free since the day I saw Penny and it was all down to her reviewing my diet and lifestyle and making the necessary changes. I cannot thank her enough for her invaluable advice as it has changed my life back to the way it was a few years ago.
